Project Workflow

This is our kickoff; a collaborative phase where we discuss ideas, constraints and what the project needs. We determine the initial path forward and complete a feasibility study combined with research on the local authorities for approval processes, permitting and timelines. Everything to ensure that we can proceed with the project as planned and begin design.

Now the fun starts. Sketches, concepts and imagery are put through an iterative process to distill spatial organization, form and context into a cohesive story that aligns with the project needs. By the end of this phase we will have initial drawings and a holistic understanding and representation of the project.

This phase allows us to further develop the design; honing in on material specifications, construction techniques and coordinating with consultants for budgeting purposes and finalizing design. All of this runs concurrently with permit approvals and authorization from local building officials. At the end of this phase we have a detailed and accurate understanding of the project.

With the design finalized this phase is all about drawing set production for construction. All elements of the design are meticulously studied to ensure a smooth transition to construction for every aspect of the project while maintaining design intent. At the end of this phase construction is ready to begin and in some cases, it already has.

Construction is a social endeavor, one that requires close contractor, consultant and client coordination to ensure a seamless process from design to completion. We are involved on site to solve unexpected challenges during construction and ensure the design intent is being met and executed to the proper standards, all while providing guidance to the client.

We take on new build projects, exterior additions & extensions and interior renovations. -
Yes we have several contractors we work with in the Netherlands & Toronto. We can also work with other contractors, it is best to involve each other early in the design process.

Absolutely. In fact we can do much more than that. With a site survey, existing drawings or local zoning information we can build a digital model of your project and begin many aspects of the design process. From there we can refine and develop it further.

We keep you updated with weekly project reports and we communicate through email, phone and video calls when we can’t meet in person.
